A few things I have been reading lately.
Here are a few links to Substack articles I’ve been enjoying
Hello there,
This week I wanted to share a couple of things I have been reading recently. Some of them may be of interest to you too.
These are on Substack, a platform I am loving! If you’ve been a long time subscriber of mine you will know I have recently moved to Substack to host my emails. It is so refreshing to scroll through the handful of writers I follow to read their well thought out emails and articles, rather than the other more noisy and crowded social media platforms.
I’ve shared Lizzie Lasater’s substack before. It’s all about rest. Here’s one that resonated with me. It’s asking ourselves why we resist rest. Lot’s of responses included feeling too busy or guilty if we rest - there’s always something else to do. Such a great question to ask ourselves when we resist rest.
I’ve been enjoying reading what Erica from Yogafolk has to share. Loved this one on the ‘Discipline of Less’. As Erica writes, sometimes our practice might be simply rolling out our mat and breathing. It’s just as worthwhile as a long asana class, or a deep yin practice or 20 minutes of meditation.
While not always on the topic of yoga, Burnt Toast by Virginia Sole-Smith has been interesting. Her substack is all about navigating diet culture and fat phobia and I am loving her content. Perfect timing for me, as a yoga related post appeared a couple days ago.
If you can recommend any reading please do post in the comments, I’d love to know.
Enjoy these for now.
Love Sarah
