Freedom in the hip. A class for you

A 30 minute practice to create space in the hips.

Happy new year,

I know, it’s mid January already and I’m a little slow with the new year greetings! I hope the year has started off well for you.

I have a class to share with you. It goes for about 30 minutes and is all about freeing the hip area. If you’ve been travelling these holidays then all that car sitting will no doubt be felt in your hips.

I remember my early days of practicing yoga, the teacher talked about holding emotional tension in different parts of the body, and how the hips were a common place that women in particular hold tension. I remember how intrigued I was by this idea, and I still find this incredibly fascinating and so empowering that we can move emotional tension by moving the body and breathing in certain ways.
