Hello again! Yoga weekend in Yamba this October, and a class for you
Welcome to paid subscriptions and Yoga weekend in Yamba
Hello old friends!
I am sorry it has been so long in between emails.
I decided to take a little break from writing this newsletter as I was feeling a little consumed by starting up my small meal delivery business (if you’re near Bangalow have a look at the menu!).
I’m now back and looking forward to writing to you regularly again.
First up, I need to let you know that I am hosting another yoga weekend in Yamba. It will be the 20th, 21st & 22nd of October. You can find out more here or simply reply to this email and I’ll get back to you. I thoroughly enjoy these weekends. I feel like they are the perfect way to dip your toe into a yoga retreat. We all stay at our own accommodation which is appealing if you’re someone who needs your own space and time. Or if you are having a weekend away with a close friend then there’s time for catch ups alone. However, you will still be able to feel like you have well and truly had your yoga fix, with four yoga classes over the three days, all including plenty of gentle asana, breath work, restorative yoga, meditation and deep rest. You’ll also feel cared for with a take home meal on the Friday evening - a yummy bowl of Ayurvedic kichari with condiments and I cook you a wholesome two course brunch on Saturday that we share on the veranda of our beach house. I hope you can join me!
Secondly, this email will look a little different from now on, as I have added a paid subscription option. This is absolutely optional and I will always have a a free subscription available for general thoughts & musings, the occasional class video, links to things I like on the internet and basically what the email has looked like so far!
The paid option is where I will share my online yoga classes from now on, replacing my previous online yoga membership.
If you are new here, and would like to try a class then here’s one you might enjoy!
Your yoga class for this week
For the next few weeks I am going to share the series based on Donna Farhi’s seven moving principles. This first class is based on the principle of breath, and the idea of breath leading the movement. Without a connection to the breath, yoga is just like any other form of movement, it’s when we move with breath awareness, and the breath being the leader, that it becomes yoga.
What you will need for this class:
A bolster, or use a rolled blanket and pillow combination
How long will this class go for:
It’s about 1 hour long
What’s involved with this class?
This class is about moving with the breath, which is a principle we should continue to take through every time we practice yoga, so as you’d imagine, expect a focus on breathing!
We will start over a bolster for a few minutes to calm the nervous system then move through some gentle asana. This class is suitable for lots of bodies and (I hope!) you will finish feeling calm, balanced and open.
Here is your class! I am sorry - the audio for this class isn’t fabulous, this was before my fancy microphone and webcam, but I promise the practice is a lovely one!
Enjoy,
Sarah
