Hello my friends,
Have you been hit with a head cold this winter? Here is a simple breath practice that may help clear congestion.
Once you feel clear again, you might like to use a neti pot to keep the nasal passages and sinus’ clear. If you don’t regularly use a neti pot then I don’t recommend you start while you have a blocked nose as water may get trapped and it could make matters worse for you. However, it is wonderful as a preventative to wash away anything that makes its way into your nostrils.
Another practice to take is Nadi shodana - alternate nostril breathing - which not only helps to keep the nasal passages clear but it is a very balancing pranayama and calming on the nervous system.
